The oval finish is an improved and long-lasting version of the round brilliance. Most of the stones in the obelisk display 56 facets.
Since the shape and size of oval diamonds may vary, there is no ideal oval polishing. However, most diamond industry experts agree that a longitude ratio of 1.33 to 1.66 represents the most appropriate proportions for oval polishing diamonds.

Similar to other elongated diamond lintels, oval polishing diamonds often contain the “bow tie effect”. When viewed from above, the upper part of the diamond looks like a dark bow tie – but it is not an internal flaw or damage as a result of polishing. In fact, the “bow tie effect” is created
because the viewer’s head blocks the light reflected in the diamond.
